The Chronicles of the Immortal God - Chapter 289
Chapter 289: I am a Perverted Gentleman
Right now, Fang Lin’s disguise goes by the name of Ricardo, in honor of the one who tried to swindle Fang Yu.
Ricardo was a new merchant that was easily swayed by material items. He may look middle-aged, but his mannerisms were that of a young teenager.
Fang Lin pretended to blush as he stared at Feng Ling’er who walked just past him. Feng Ling’er continued walking until she was at the edge. She stood there as she watched the waves with a lonesome look on her face.
“So pretty….” Fang Lin muttered in his gruff voice. He looked at Lin Xiang while trying to smother his rage out.
“Esteemed brother, do you know who that pretty lass was? You know, I am still single, and I am eager to mingle!” Fang Lin said as he rubbed his beard roughly. “She’s just my type!”
Tao’er and Yu’er, who were beside Lin Xiang, recoiled in disgust as they stared at Fang Li with revulsion.
“Hehehe.” Fang Lin laughed creepily as he stared at Lin Xiang. “Oh, my name is Ricardo by the way.”
“I’m Lin Xiang, and these two angels are Tao’er and Ru’er.” Lin Xiang seemed to not notice anything suspicious from Fang Lin.
“We three are assassins!”
“Wait! Is that something that you can say aloud? After all, assassins kill in the ‘assassin’ way, right? With those sneaky stuff and s**t.” Fang Lin asked with a genuine expression of confusion on his face.
While he waited for Lin Xiang’s answer, Fang Lin thought to himself,
“Now that I remember it, Lin Xiang was had no qualms on showing his assassin identity on the Immortal God Sect. He did not even change his face here! And he also revealed that he was an assassin now! Why does he not care about this?”
“It’s something that is related to my job.” Lin Xiang replied gracefully.
“Wait, why are you even telling this to me anyway?” Fang Lin pretended to be confused while he asked Lin Xiang. “Do you have an alternate motive or something.
“You’re quite sharp for a newbie merchant.” Lin Xiang said with a glint on his eyes.
He looked at the sea as he said,
“The reason why I told that to you is because something exciting will happen later. I am going to assassinate someone in this ship.”
“Assassinate someone?” Fang Lin’s blood turned cold as he realized that Feng Ling’er might be a possible target!
As for Fang Xiushang…. maybe he can survive the attempt. There was no need for Fang Lin to worry about him.
“Wait. I still do not get it. If you will really assassinate someone later, why are you still telling it to me?” Fang Lin asked.
“Ah, because according to the assassination request, I must tell someone about the assassination that I will do.” Lin Xiang replied with a fed-up expression on his face.
“Honestly, finding a way to kill my target right now is already hard, and then the request also wanted me to tell someone that I will do an assassination! Talk about a difficulty spike!”
Lin Xiang then patted Fang Lin’s shoulders as his eyes bored on his. Lin Xiang’s eyes turned blood red as he said,
“You will of course not tell anyone about what I told you right?”
“I-I-I won’t!” Fang Lin replied as he pretended to be scared.
“Does that mean that when Lin Xiang was requested to kill Venomshade, part of that request was to make the assassination attempt happen in the battle itself?” Fang Lin thought as he unclenched his fists.
“If that was the case, maybe the one who ordered Venomshade’s assassination was similar to the one who ordered the assassination that will happen later!” Fang Lin realized that maybe now was the best time to find who this mystery person was!
Fang Lin then swore to himself that he will do his best to obstruct whatever Lin Xiang will do later. Having him dead will be the best outcome.
This will of course happen at the premise that Fang Lin’s disguise will not be blown.
“Good.” Lin Xiang said as Fang Lin felt something enter his hands. Fang Lin repressed his body’s instincts to reject the foreign matter that entered his body.
“Did you feel something entering your hands?” Lin Xiang whispered lightly on Fang Lin’s ears.
“That thing inside you now was a pair of Poison Sac Worms. After this trip, you will die from these worms. The only way for you to survive was the antidote that I have with me.” Lin Xiang’s whisper started to get more and more sinister right now.
“But you will only get the antidote in two conditions.”
“What is it? Oh please, be merciful!” Fang Lin whispered back with terror.
Lin Xiang smiled sadistically, obviously enjoying what he was doing right now.
“First, do not tell others about what will happen later. If my assassination attempt fails, I will escape with the antidote, leaving you to your death. As for the second one, you will help me in my assassination attempt. You will be like an extra arm of mine.”
“Help you? But I cannot help on killing a person!” Fang Lin aka. Ricardo said as he paled. “No matter what you say, I will no-”
“Disobey me or those worms will dissolve your organs later.” Lin Xiang said with a finality.
“Ok….” Fang Lin’s deflated expression confirms his approval to give ‘aid’ to Lin Xiang.
“There will be times on this trip that you will receive some paper slips. Read those, and follow the instructions written there. If you ever mess up once, you will be dead.” Lin Xiang and his angels then left, going back to their room.
“Lin Xiang… you never knew that you just f**ked up real bad!” Fang Lin thought as he stopped his urge to laugh.
“Out of all the people that will be privy in your plans, you let the one person who wants to kill you to be the one in the plan! This is so great!”
Will Fang Lin waste the opportunity that he had right now? Of course not! This can be even called a divine opportunity!
Those two Poison Sac Worms inside his body? They are only lethal on weak practitioners. Since Fang Lin hid his cultivation, Lin Xiang must have thought that Fang Lin was a pushover.
Bu with just one thought of his, Fang Lin can easily dispel these worms.
But he realized that he can use the Rat King Divine Beast Bloodline to put these worms into a good use later.
“You wanted to use me? Then just you wait! I will make you regret meeting the great Ricardo the Explorer!” Fang Lin then looked at his hands, where one paper slip resides.
Lin Xiang gave this to Fang Lin right before he left.
Seeing that Wang Hao was still in the comfort room, Fang Lin unfurled the slip to read his first ‘task’.
TALK AND INTERACT WITH ALL THE GUESTS OF THE SHIP. TAO’ER AND RU’ER WILL BE WATCHING.
“Ok, this is a simple one.” Fang Lin muttered as he started the preparations for his first task.
“Hmm?” Ling’er, who was still submerged on her thoughts, felt a presence behind her.
She looked behind her, and she saw a middle-aged bearded man approaching her.
Ling’er felt disgust upon seeing how the man’s eyes looked at her. She opened her mouth as she tried to chase the perverted man away, but she paused when the man gave something to her.
The man handed Ling’er a bouquet of flowers.
Ling’er stared at the bouquet for a full five seconds with a displeased expression, while the man waited in tense silence. She then sent a frosty glare to the man as she waited for him to speak.
“Hello pretty miss. My name is Ricardo, and may I know who you are?”
Ling’er’s eyes were twitching as she tossed away the bouquet into the sea.
The sound of it hitting the water was drowned by the impetuous roar of the waves.
“You are the type of person that I hate most! Hmph, scram!” Feng Ling’er shoved Ricardo out of her way as she went back to her room.
“Hehehe, she got spunk, that I can assure you.” Ricardo said jovially to the man who was just behind him. “Don’t you think so too?”
“Yeah, you picked the wrong time to woo her.” Fang Xiushang said as he patted Ricardo’s shoulders. “If it were me, I will…”
“Shang’er, behave.” Rou’er and Xu’er frostily said behind him.
“I’m behaved now ok?” Fang Xiushang said before he gave Ricardo a parting glance.
“Your name is Ricardo right? You impress me. How about you meet with me later? I can feel that we can be good brothers….”
Fang Xiushang was then dragged by his lovers away. Who knows what they will do next.
“Now that’s weird.” Ricardo muttered as he looked for more visitors to talk to.
