The Chronicles of the Immortal God - Chapter 106
Chapter 106: Kill
Fang Yu sat comfortably on her chair as she watched the onslaught of the dragonspawn. From what she can see, these creatures do have the ability to ignore most of the security measures put in the castle. They easily ignored most of the restriction wrapped around the castle.
Because of this, the dragonspawns were free to roam the Kingdom. Only those with the strength comparable to the Third Stage can fight off the creatures.
The problem was, there were too few Third Stage Practitioners in the Solstice Kingdom.
Third Stage Practitioners can be considered to be much less than the amount of Second Stage Practitioners in the Kingdom.
There were only 10 Third Stage Practitioners in the Solstice Kingdom. Such an amount will not be enough to completely wipe out 500+ dragonspawns quickly.
As such, the Kingdom focused on their Second Stage Soldiers. There were around 1000 soldiers of the Kingdom at the Second Stage. If each of them were to be alone, these soldiers will be easily decimated by the dragonspawns.
Thus, they implemented battle-formations for the soldiers.
Battle-formation was the type of formation where a group of people were ‘linked’ together by a mystical formation. Their cultivation bases, abilities and attacks will be connected with each other, amplifying the strength of the group.
This means that 10 people in a battle formation will have their strengths combined, leading to a stronger combatant.
The strength that the battle-formation can harness depends on the type of formation used and the amount of people in it.
For the Solstice Kingdom, they used the ‘Divine Arsenal’ Formation. This formation requires the presence of 25 practitioners. With this formation, this 25-person group can unleash the strength of a Third Stage Practitioner!
But of course, there were limits. Each of this battle-formation can only let out 10 moves before the soldiers inside it lose their strength.
Through the use of Math, Fang Yu determined that all in all, there were 10 Third Stage Practitioners and 40 ‘Battle-Formation Third Stage Practitioners.”
Against 500+ dragonspawns, it might take around 4-5 hours to rout them all. Fang Yu knew that with its decade-long fight against the dragonspawns, these guards can deal with the Third Stage dragonspawns.
What got her worried was the presence of the Fourth Stage dragonspawns.
From what Fang Yu knew, there were currently only 3 people in the Solstice Kingdom at the Fourth Stage, excluding the queen.
It was King William, the guard that Fang Yu met last night, and the boss of the Kingdom Rebels. King William was pre-occupied with his wife, meaning he cannot repel the Fourth Stage dragonspawns. The rebel boss was of course hiding. The only one who can currently repel the Fourth Stage dragonspawns was the guard Fang Yu met last night.
Sure enough, the guard she was thinking about appeared, blocking the path of the 5 Fourth Stage dragonspawn that appeared.
“F**k! The King hypothesized that you might come next, but I did not expect that to be now!” The guard creaked his neck as he looked at his 5 opponents. He smiled even though he knew he was outnumbered.
From what Fang Yu heard from Empyrea, that guard was at the Dao Soul Stage. His soul had already been branded by his dao. This made his strength greatly different compared to the Third Stage.
But this guard was now outnumbered, and he clearly cannot fight it out with these creatures.
Fang Yu looked at Empyrea anxiously as she asked, “You are the Emperor. You must be at the Fifth Stage, right? Why don’t you help us out here? I am sure you can easily slay these creatures with a wave of your hand!”
“I can do that, but I cannot as of now.”
Empyrea explained patiently to Fang Yu. “As you can see, I… did not actually tell anyone that I will be leaving…..so they must have been searching for me already. If I use a Fifth Stage power here, they can detect it. I do not want to get detected yet.” Empyrea concluded with a sheepish expression on her face.
Fang Yu sighed in exasperation as she heard Empyrea’s explanation.
“But you can use Fourth Stage power here, right? Why don’t you just limit your strength and fight it out with them? They cannot detect you that way right?”
“I suppose you are right….” Fang Yu gritted her teeth in frustration when she saw Emypyrea was still hesitating.
“I gave you a good time with that ‘massage’! Now use this help as a repayment for that!” Fang Yu had no choice but to use the ‘massage’ card to coerce Empyrea into action.
She had been saving this card for more ‘special’ occasions, but it seems like she had to use it now.
Empyrea gave Fang Yu a bemused look after hearing what she said.
“Really, you want to use that massage as a favor? And now you want me to repay that favor by killing those Fourth Stage dragonspawn?”
“Sigh. Fine, since you made me feel really good with your massage, I guess doing this might be enough repayment for that.”
Empyrea then disappeared from Fang Yu’s sight. Fang Yu rushed outside, only to see Empyrea wielding her sword against the 5 Fourth Stage dragonspawn.
Fang Yu felt a powerful suppression coming from Empyrea, which was focused on the dragonspawn. Even though she was not the suppression’s target, Fang Yu had to kneel to stabilize herself.
As for the dragonspawn, they were frozen in the air. A swish of sword-light passed by, and all 5 of the Fourth Stage dragonspawn disintegrated into ashes.
The guard and Fang Yu had their mouths wide open when they saw the quick kill done by Empyrea. Fang Yu frowned, thinking to herself, “This must be the effect of her Dao Grade. I wonder what grade that is?”
“Ah thank you for the help Miss Empyrea.” The guard clasped his hands as he bowed in front of her. “My name is Joe, and I am grateful for your help.”
“Do not thank me.” Empyrea muttered. “I only did this because Fang Yu told me so. Anyway, what are you still doing here? The Fourth Stage dragonspawns are now gone. Now go back to your post and do your damn job!”
“Ah erm…. ok then.” The flustered Joe rushed back to his post.
Upon going back, Fang Yu gave Empyrea a smug smirk.
“What was that cocky smile for?”
“In case you are dense, that Joe was clearly smitten with your scary appearance!” Fagn Yu giggled uncontrollably. “Who could have thought that your appearance now that was meant to scare others managed to ensnare his heart?”
“Oh shut up, now I have more problems to tackle.” Emypyrea sighed, clearly annoyed with the situation. “So, we are just going to wait now?”
“Yes, we shall wait.” Fang Yu drew her card game, and invited Emyprea to play with her. She shuffled the cards as she sent a challenging smile to Empyrea.
“The one who will lose shall agree to the request of the winner. Are you fine with that, Empyrea?”
“Hmph, you think I am afraid? Let’s start this now!”
Wang Hao rubbed his head which had been kicked by Eleanor earlier.
Once she felt Wang Hao’s burning gaze on her butt, Eleanor use her left foot to repeatedly kick Wang Hao’s head.
At that time, Wang Hao of course used his energy absorption. He absorbed all of Eleanor’s kick, while he just acted that he was in pain.
Eleanor’s act of kicking gave Wang Hao more chance to appreciate her toned legs and curvy waist.
Once they arrive at the bottom, what Wang Hao saw was a long tunnel. It extended at both sides, reaching out to somewhere else.
“So, are we there yet?”
“Not yet, now, you follow me as I walk towards the hideout.”
“Wait, how long this walk would be?”
“Hmm.. around an hour.”
“Sigh. Just lead us to your Boss quickly.” Wang Hao and Eleanor then followed the man as he strode forward. Only the squeaks of the rats and the slithering of the snakes can be heard inside the tunnel.
“Wang Hao?” Eleanor’s anxious voice sounded towards Wang Hao.
“What is it?”
Wang Hao then remembered that Eleanor was raised a princess. The hostile environment she was in now must be really that frightening to her. The small creatures and the deep darkness was a bane for most females.
“Do you want me to carry you?”
“Hmph, you obviously have evil plans… Well, I will just pummel you if you try to feel me up.”
